She was sure that no man would ever fall for her. But time has taught her how wrong she was. What role does beauty play in a relationship? Is it true that if you are ugly, you will never enjoy a lasting relationship?

The role of beauty in a relationship
If you are beautiful or handsome, many people will be attracted to your looks. In relationships, beauty acts as a motivator or starting point. It announces your presence and can give you the confidence to stand in public. Some people also prefer attractive mates so that they can also end up producing cute offspring. In addition, physical beauty normally has a way of attracting even the attention of busy people in certain occasions. But, does beauty make it easier to find a serious life partner? 

Does Beauty make it easier to get married? 
As earlier noted, beauty makes it easier for members of the opposite gender to notice you - with a good number of them tempted to talk to you. But beauty alone can not sustain a marriage. It can lead to a lasting marriage only when it is complimented with wisdom and other positive personal qualities. In fact, one biblical proverb noted that beauty without wisdom is like a gold-ring on the snout of a pig. It adds no value. When a marriage is sinking, physical beauty alone cannot save it. If beauty was all that was required for one to get married, then all the beautiful people we know could have been married and the ugly ones would still be single. But, what about those of us who are considered to be ugly, will we ever enjoy lasting relationships?

Are you ugly in your heart?
When people say you are ugly, they are simply making a comparison of your physical features to someone else. This kind of beauty fades with age and can sometimes be taken away by unexpected circumstances, including old age. However, the beauty that surpasses the outward appearance is the inner one. You need to continually work on beautifying your heart which describes who you are and how you relate with others. In fact, this kind of beauty makes you confident to stand before any audience and present what you may have for them. In time, potential partners will notice your attractive heart and the right person will definitely be attracted to you. Even if some people might consider you to be ugly, just know that as long as you are not ugly in your heart, you will enjoy a lasting relationship one day because in the eyes of the creator you are precious and beautiful.
